Barangay BF homes is a suburban subdivision of Paranaque city which is filled with people of the upper- middle class. This subdivision is the largest in Paranaque. It has a land area of 765 hectares and an estimated population of 75,000 residents.
Those facts along with the fact that there are also many informal settlers that are unaccounted for and have created flimsy houses makes creating an emergency plan for BF homes very hard which is why it doesn’t have one.
BF homes has a unique situation in which it doesn’t plan for disasters and allows the many homeowners associations situated throughout the 765 hectares to make their own plans effectively making them mini barangays, one of them is Tierra De Maria homeowners association which is located near the center of BF homes.
This gated homeowner’s association mostly consists of upper middle class residents.
This means that most residents are already knowledgeable about natural disasters and have prepared by making their own homes very durable and having their own emergency response plans. Tierra De Maria is very prepared in terms of individual households but as a community we are not. This will be my proposed typhoon emergency response plan based on gathered information and observations living in this community.
